Fluency/Stuttering Disorders
This type of therapy helps individuals who stutter to improve their fluency. We work on targeting word or sound repetitions, as well as difficulties with rushed overall speech rate. This can present as a prolongation of sounds, interruptions in speech or repetition of sounds, syllables or words. I emphasize empowering children to work on acceptance, increasing self-esteem and confidence.
We can provide services throughout the year, to students who need more support outside of school services and to bridge in the summer so no skills are lost.

Expressive language
Expressive language refers to what your child says. Some early foundational words such as "more, done, go, help" can facilitate a child's independence and communicate their basic wants and needs. This decreases their frustration and behaviors. Expressive language also targets increasing vocabulary, labeling items, and objects and basic concepts such as; colors or shapes etc.

Receptive language
Receptive language refers to what your child understands. I target following directions, increasing auditory processing skills and auditory memory. These skills contribute to longer attention and lead to your child being more successful at school.

Phonological Awareness:
The ability to process and manipulate sounds. Being able to count number of syllables in a word, determine whether words rhyme and segment/blend sounds into words are essential building blocks that help and contribute to reading skills.

Prompt Advanced Trained
Targeting childhood apraxia of speech and severe speech sound disorders. A holistic approach that uses both cognitive and physical techniques to improve speech and language. This training has been an integral skill that assists children to improve.

Trained to understand the complexities of treating individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Augmentative and Alternative Communication/AAC
This type of therapy helps individuals who have difficulty communicating verbally, either nonverbal or minimally verbal, to use other forms of communication. This support involves all forms of communication other than oral speech. Everyone deserves to learn ways to communicate and be supported to have their wants, needs, thoughts and feelings understood. This can be sign language, or communication devices.

Articulation
This type of therapy refers to problems making sounds and forming particular speech sounds. We work on helping individuals to improve their ability to produce speech sounds correctly.

Social and listening skills
This therapy helps individuals improve their social communication skills. We work on problem solving, perspective taking, turn-taking, topic maintenance and empathy. Helping children learn to communicate and respond and resolve conflicts is an important part of communication. Learning how to interact with others can help children gain confidence and increase in their communication skills.
